Questions

Please answer the questions below.

SAQ: We can collect data about a lot of people's hair at once using this model.  Why would this be beneficial?

Generate data for a lot of people with random hair colors by opening the command center and typing in “collect-data number” (where "number" indicates the number of people you want to collect for), then enter.  Check out the graph that is made of your new data.  In detail, using data from the graph, describe the relationship between pheomelanin levels and hair color.

You can check the eumelanin levels on the graph by selecting the word “eumelanin” from the table and dragging it to the y-axis of the graph.  In detail, using detail from the graph, describe the relationship between eumelanin levels and hair color.

Why are the measurements of each type of melanin not the same for each person with the same hair color (ie. why is the eumelanin level for all people with black hair not exactly the same)?

How do you think the body knows which melanin to make and how much? If you don't know, speculate! (and let me know you're speculating). Then, share your answers with the rest of the class.
